Hale Woodruff
1900-1980
Hale Woodruff is known for his large, colorful murals. His most famous mural of the slave revolt on the sea called the "Amistad Mutiny". Woodruff grew up in Nashville Tennessee but studied art Herron School of Art and Design and Art Institute of Chicago. After returning from World War II, he established an art school at Atlanta University. Woodruff created the murals for Talladega College where they are still held.
