Alison Saar

Alison Saar’s work explores issues of gender, race, heritage, humanity, spirituality and history. She credits her mother, the well-known visual artist, Betye Saar for introducing her to metaphysics and spirituality. As a sculptor Saar works with wood, metal, glass and found objects. Although Saar is primarily a sculptor creating life-sized artworks, she also works with prints and illustrations.
